Commercial email is primarily promotional, or drives clicks to a promotional site.
If you are sending commercial emails out, you should be following the rules laid out by the CAN-SPAM legislation.
To follow the rules, your email needs to contain the physical address of your company and an opt-out button. After clicking the opt-out button, that person shouldn't receive another email from ANYONE in your company.
Finally, your subject line needs to be honest, not deceitful or "slimy."
By following these rules, you'll keep yourself out of harm's way.
